Celebrating Beaujolais Nouveau

On the third Thursday of every November, Beaujolais Nouveau Day is celebrated. I hopped over with the Les Shuttle Marketing team and Kitten and Shark PR to find out more about the wines and explore the Old Town of Boulogne.

Tell me what is Beaujolais Wine and Beaujolais Nouveau Day?

A Beaujolais wine is released shortly after a grape harvest and is sold for immediate consumption. It is the most popular vin de primeur, fermented for just a few weeks before being released for sale on the third Thursday of November. Beaujolais Nouveau Day is the celebration of the launch.

Travelling from the UK to Bologne

The UK with a short 35 minutes via Les Shuttle at Eurotunnel, the beautiful Bologne Old Town is only a short 20-minute drive from the terminal. We are based in south Kent and actually, it’s an easier drive plus shorter drive than heading into London.

The Old Town is so beautiful to photograph and is steeped in history.

We had the delight to wander around the old town between wine tastings and a tour of the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Boulogne and its pristine Crypt. Housing some of the most colorful and well-kept original features.

A perfect short weekend away if you love food, wine & history.

Nothing more quaint than dining on a French side street after a day of exploring an ancient town – a truly beautiful escape that’s right on our doorstep for the UK.
